NSP expands net metering progam

In some good news for consumers and the environment, the Chronicle-Herald of November 2, 2010 reports that Nova Scotia Power is increasing the power it will accept from net metering from 100 kw to one megawatt.  Net metering is a program that allows residential and business clients to generate electricity for their own use and to feed the excess, if any, back into the NSP system. There are about 80 clients participating in the program at present. It is expected that with the increased allowance that more clients will seek to join the program.
